JOB OVERVIEW:
The production laborer assists in various departments, performing various tasks including material handling, equipment preparation, cleaning, packaging, almond quality control-including manual auditing, sorting, and other essential tasks. This position is ideal for individuals who are team-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to work in a fast-paced environment. Following established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), BDG policies and procedures, and safety procedures will be part of every aspect of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Building new and used Triwalls.
  • Manually sort almonds to remove defective or foreign material
  • Auditing of almond product for size, quality, and consistency, following company standards
  • Possess detailed and specific knowledge of assigned work area while adhering to pre-established guidelines and procedures.
  • Performs general cleaning within the specific department assigned, including, but not limited to wiping down, blowing down, sweeping, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Helps to monitor and assist in operations.
  • Duties can also include assembling/reassembling bulk bins, stenciling, strapping & sealing, or taping boxes.
  • Loading and unloading materials or products manually or with equipment
  • Assisting machine operators with set-up and supply replenishment
  • Moving materials using pallet jacks
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by Department Manager, Supervisor, or Shift Lead.

WHAT YOU NEED
*Minimum requirements
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions. You may be required to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders.
