Job Summary and Qualifications

The Labor & Delivery RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Labor & Delivery Unit has 8 Labor beds, 2 OR’s, 3 Obed (obstetrics emergency department) and 3 Antepartum beds. There is a midwife on unit, occasionally. The L&D RN will treat expecting mothers providing support before, during and after labor. 

In this position, you will: 

  • Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs 
  • Carries out physician orders 
  • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems 
What qualifications you will need:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, or
  • Recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provision) 
  • Graduate from a professional accredited school of nursing preferred 
  • Current BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) 
  • NRP & AWHONN Certifications (30 Day Grace Period) 
  • 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred
