Job Overview
The General Construction Laborer supports all phases of construction projects by performing a variety of physical tasks on-site. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, operating basic hand and power tools, loading and unloading materials, preparing and cleaning work areas, and following all safety guidelines. Laborers work in diverse outdoor environments and must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn new skills to contribute to successful project completion. This role will report directly to the Foreman.
Responsibilities
  • Assist skilled tradespeople with construction tasks.
  • Load, unload and move construction materials, tools and equipment.
  • Prepare and clean construction sites, including debris removal.
  • Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete.
  • Follow all company and OSHA safety policies and wear required PPE.
  • Perform basic measurements accurately.
  • Support site organization by keeping tools and equipment in proper storage.
  • Other construction tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Required Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in construction.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in concrete construction.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods, including lifting 50+ pounds.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of construction safety practices and ability to follow OSHA guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to effectively follow instructions to ensure maximum productivity and safety.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring devices as needed.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites and consistent punctuality.
  • Willingness to travel 100%.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Requires physical agility to navigate construction sites, climb ladders/stairs, and work outdoors.
  • May be exposed to noise, dust, or other workplace elements, requiring appropriate PPE.
  • Schedule may include working extended hours outside of a 40-hour week.
