Seeking a hardworking entry-level soybean processing laborer to assist with manual tasks such as lifting, shoveling, sweeping, and maintaining worksite cleanliness. No prior experience required-just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn on the job! This position also offers career growth. This job is primarily responsible for performing all tasks dealing with keeping the assigned location in a safe condition as well as an overall good facility appearance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, identifying any priority areas and ensuring that dust accumulation does not reach 1/8", and will assist in other tasks such as painting. Additionally, this job will assist in the processing plant as directed by management.
In this job, you will:
  • Fully participate in the company Safety Program, Quality Program and attends daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Perform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable); including wearing appropriate PPE for task being performed.
  • Cleans all areas of assigned location as directed and/or as needed to maintain a good appearance and minimize dust explosion risks (i.e. shoveling, sweeping, dusting, power washing, painting, etc.).
  • Safely operate all Rolling Stock as required to keep the location clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned; including working in any or all parts of the plant as required by management assisting with operations or maintenance when an imminent or urgent issue arises.

  • Ability to perform all duties while maintaining security.

  • Ability to follow directions and use logical thought process to interpret oral and written instructions, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.

Here's additional information you need to know:
Physical Demands & Requirements
Ability to perform heavy lifting that includes up to 30 lbs. daily, 90 lbs. occasionally, and ask for assistance on anything over 90 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders or stairs repeatedly to significant elevation. At least 30 feet before a rest, and a total height of up to 120 feet.
Ability to be able to use a 300 pound rated ladder on regular basis.
Ability to wear required safety equipment.
Ability to work at elevated heights (100+ feet).
Ability to work in confined spaces and around deep water.
Ability to stand and walk constantly/continuously.
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, crouch and squat frequently.
Ability to grasp and reach constantly/continuously.
Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over two-way radio.
Ability to understand and communicate written instructions.
Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
Ability to work the entire normally scheduled shift (including rotating shifts) and overtime when necessary.
Ability to work in an environment with high dust levels.
Ability to meet requirements of PFT and fit testing, when applicable.
Ability to meet requirement of and utilize all applicable PPE, when applicable.

Environmental Conditions
The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment.
Travel, up to 5% travel may be required and may include off-site training.
The expected base pay range for this role is:
$17.22 - $21.85
Actual pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including work location, job-related knowledge, skills and relevant experience for the job. Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular period of time.
