Job description

Farm Shop Helper
This is a hands-on, entry level position reporting directly to the Shop Manager, that requires working outdoors and varying weather conditions as well as in a dusty/greasy shop environment. Hours can fluctuate seasonally, with long days and weekends required during peak season.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Specific Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
  • Assist with a variety of equipment maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tune ups, greasing parts, replacing wear parts, changing brakes and tires.
  • Help keep the shop and workspaces free to debris, clean up oil spills, organize tools, and safely dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Retrieve parts from local vendors, help manage inventory levels.
  • Accompany farm staff to the fields for on-site troubleshooting, equipment setup, and minor mechanical adjustments.
  • Assist in keeping accurate records of maintenance tasks, labor times, and parts used.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasking as you grow with the company.
  • Other duties as described by the Shop Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Basic Mechanical Aptitude: A foundational understanding of vehicle components and a strong desire to learn the trade.
  • Physical Stamina: The ability to lift heavy objects (typically up to 50 pounds), stand for long periods, and perform physical work.
  • Reliability & Teamwork: Willingness to follow strict safety protocols and take directions from the Shop Manager.
  • Licensing: A valid driver's license is typically required, with a clean driving record
