This is not an entry-level sales role. We are looking for someone with strong presence, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to walk into a hospital, conference, or executive meeting and represent Relias with professionalism, warmth, and credibility.
Position Summary
The Associate Development Officer will support Relias Healthcare's growth strategy through relationship building, market outreach, conference attendance, pipeline management, and public-facing development activity.
This person will work closely with the Senior Development Officer and marketing team to identify prospects, coordinate outreach, manage HubSpot, support conference strategy, and help keep development activity moving.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with hospital leaders, health system leaders, physicians, consultants, and other strategic contacts.
  • Travel regularly across Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, and other Southeast and Gulf state markets.
  • Support lead generation through in-person outreach, conferences, networking, market research, referrals, and follow-up.

  • Work with marketing on public-facing materials, conference strategy, outreach campaigns, and market-specific messaging.
  • Prepare background research on hospitals, markets, health systems, and key decision makers.
  • Support proposal and presentation preparation as needed.
  • Represent Relias in a way that reflects our culture, professionalism, and physician-centered mindset.

Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of experience in healthcare business development, physician relations, hospital relations, medical sales, healthcare recruiting, healthcare marketing, or another outward-facing professional relationship role.
  • Strong public-facing presence and ability to communicate comfortably with hospital leaders, physicians, executives, and community stakeholders.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust quickly.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-up discipline.
  • Experience using a CRM, preferably HubSpot, or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Experience
  • Experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, physician practice management, hospital-based services, healthcare staffing, physician recruiting, anesthesia, radiology, or hospital vendor relationships.
  • Existing healthcare relationships in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, or surrounding markets.
  • Experience attending or coordinating conferences, trade shows, hospital meetings, or healthcare networking events.
  • Experience working with marketing teams on outreach, collateral, social media, brand positioning, or event strategy.

Someone who is persistent without being pushy.
Someone who can get on the road, tell the Relias story, and help us become more visible in the markets where we want to grow.
This person must want to understand our culture, our physicians, and our mission to build a company where clinicians want to practice.
