Job Description

Department: Mountain Division Aggregates
Reports to: Lead Person / Assistant Plant Manager / Plant Manager

Job Summary:
A Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently completing tasks related to maintenance, repairs, inspection, and housekeeping for an aggregate crushing plant, conveyors, and general site. Will also operate small equipment such as a skid steer, water truck, and will perform quality control testing (gradations) on our products. Work location is at our quarry located close to Horse Creek, Wyoming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Read, understand, and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Acts as a champion of safety.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations related to MSHA, EPA, etc.
• Perform all duties in all types of weather conditions.
• Inspect and report all hazards or any maintenance/repair work required to the supervisor.
• Operate equipment in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. Perform pre-trip inspections.
• Perform housekeeping, servicing, and maintenance on plant equipment (shoveling, washing, greasing, changing rollers, bearings, belt cleaners, belt splicing, etc.). Safely and efficiently use a variety of hand and power tools. Will also help with any repairs to the plant.
• Required to use PPE.
• Is at the proper location and commences work on or before assigned time.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Has an adequate comfort level with mathematical calculations, use of a computer, and Excel (for QC testing).
• Attention to detail.
• Good work attendance.
• Display good communication skills including the ability to understand and follow verbal and written direction and instructions. Asks questions to clarify understanding.
• Read, understand, and follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Physical Requirements:
• Work 5 to 6 days per week (Monday thru Saturday).
• Ability to occasionally perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
• May occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions as well as exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
