Job description

Bilingual Construction Laborer / Masonry Helper

LaborMAX Staffing is hiring Bilingual Construction Laborers / Masonry Helpers for a busy brick and masonry construction company serving the Lake Charles, Sulphur, Carlyss, and Iowa, Louisiana area.

This is a full-time opportunity for dependable workers with general labor, construction, concrete, masonry, landscaping, roofing, demolition, or other outdoor labor experience.

Previous bricklaying or masonry experience is helpful but NOT required.

We are willing to train hardworking general laborers who have reliable transportation, can communicate in both English and Spanish, and are interested in learning the masonry trade.

Pay

$17.00-$20.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule

Monday-Friday
7:00 AM-5:00 PM

Applicants must be available for full-time daytime construction work.

Job Locations

Projects are located throughout the greater Lake Charles area, including:

  • Lake Charles, LA
  • Sulphur, LA
  • Carlyss, LA
  • Iowa, LA
  • Surrounding Southwest Louisiana jobsites

Reliable personal transportation is required. Workers must be able to report directly to different construction jobsites as needed.

Construction Laborer / Masonry Helper Duties

  • Assist bricklayers, masons, and masonry crews
  • Carry and stage bricks, blocks, mortar, tools, and construction materials
  • Load and unload materials
  • Mix mortar and other masonry materials as directed
  • Supply experienced bricklayers with materials
  • Perform general construction labor
  • Clean and organize the jobsite
  • Move equipment and materials throughout the workday
  • Assist with brick, block, concrete, and masonry projects
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople
  • Maintain a safe and productive work area
  • Perform physically demanding outdoor work

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Must be able to travel between jobsites in the Lake Charles area
  • Must be dependable and report to work on time
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors
  • Must be able to lift and carry construction materials
  • Must be able to perform physical labor throughout the workday
  • Must be able to follow directions and work well with a construction crew
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn required
