Job description

Position: Truck Scheduler
Pay: Paid Weekly
Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
Position Summary: The Truck Scheduler will schedule and route shipments to achieve the best customer service possible at the lowest cost to O'Neal Manufacturing Services.

Position Summary
The Truck Scheduler will schedule and route shipments to achieve the best customer service possible at the lowest cost to O'Neal Manufacturing Services.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Schedule orders for shipment: assign shipment card weight, trailer number, date, etc.
  • Prepare bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
  • Ship return authorizations as required.
  • Assign loads to various freight lines.
  • Assist in shipping "will call" orders for customers.
  • Prepare ASNs for customers, when required.
  • Enter information into customer portals, as necessary.
  • Compile all required paperwork for customers, vendors, carrier and third-party logistics entities.
  • Collaborate with customers to ship parts, as necessary.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments and employees in the plant to facilitate the shipment of priority parts.
  • Package orders, as needed.
  • Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Two or more years working in a shop or manufacturing setting required.
  • Able to obtain OMS Forklift and Overhead Crane certifications.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP system required.
  • Able to work in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
  • Speak conversational English.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. as needed.
  • Ability to bend, stand, climb, twist and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform sedentary work including sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Have good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
  • Travel as needed to accomplish desired results. Overnight travel may be required occasionally.

Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors which includes but is not limited to exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises, vibration from use of equipment and the following:
  • Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin - fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases or poor ventilation.
  • Oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
