Job Summary:

The General Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks to support construction and renovation projects. Working under the supervision of project managers and foremen, the laborer assists with site preparation, cleanup, material handling, and basic construction activities. This role requires physical strength, attention to safety, and the ability to work as part of a team in outdoor and indoor environments. This individual is dependable, follows directions well, and is willing to learn and take on various tasks to ensure project success.


Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards

  • Set up temporary structures, such as scaffolding, barriers, and safety signage

  • Load, unload, and distribute construction materials to various locations on the site

  • Transport heavy materials and tools, ensuring they are readily available for tradespeople

  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently for tasks such as demolition, cutting, and assembly

  • Perform basic maintenance and care on tools to ensure they are safe for use

  • Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) by providing materials, tools, and support during construction activities

  • Help measure, cut, and assemble construction materials under supervision

  • Follow company safety protocols and OSHA regulations at all times

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses

  • Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks

  • Support any general labor tasks required by the project manager or site foreman

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience

  • Basic experience in construction, landscaping, warehousing, or similar manual labor roles

  • Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and work within OSHA or other regulatory guidelines is preferred, particularly in industries with high safety standards
