Join Our Team as a Fabric Maintenance Technical Advisor - Coatings and Elevate Asset Integrity in the Oil & Gas Industry
Are you an experienced coatings professional with a passion for offshore asset protection and maintenance? We're seeking a highly skilled Fabric Maintenance Technical Advisor - Coatings to lead critical protective coating initiatives across Gulf of America assets. This pivotal role combines technical expertise, innovative problem-solving, and collaborative leadership to ensure the safety, reliability, and longevity of our offshore facilities. What You'll Do:
  • Develop and evaluate advanced coating technologies tailored for offshore applications, including anti-corrosion, thermal insulation, and marine environment protection systems.
  • Design and implement laboratory and field trials to assess coating performance under diverse offshore conditions.
  • Conduct failure analysis investigations to identify root causes of coating deficiencies, driving continuous improvement.
  • Perform QA/QC audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Create detailed technical documentation such as coating specifications, procedures, and test reports.
  • Provide expert guidance during project planning, execution, and project post-installation to optimize coating performance and asset integrity.
  • Evaluate coating materials, application methods, and surface preparation techniques to maximize durability.
  • Support vendor and contractor qualification processes through audits, performance evaluations, and engineering reviews.
  • Assist in risk assessments and materials selection aligned with environmental and operational exposures.
  • Collaborate with third-party laboratories and certification bodies for testing, validation, and product approval.
  • Identify emerging coating technologies and surface preparation innovations to enhance maintenance effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards, regulatory updates, and technological advancements.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting offshore facilities within the oil and gas industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of AMPP, NACE, SSPC, or equivalent standards for coatings and fabric maintenance.
  • Proven experience with protective coating systems, insulation, thermal coating, and corrosion control.
  • Strong understanding of coating inspection, testing, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Skilled in failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Excellent technical report-writing and documentation skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Organizational skills to coordinate complex projects and ensure timely delivery.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • AMPP (formerly NACE/SSPC) certification.
  • Experience specific to Gulf of America offshore operations.
  • Familiarity with sustainable coating innovations and surface preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of vendor qualification processes and offshore safety standards.

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma required; technical certifications highly valued.
  • 10+ years of industry experience supporting offshore assets, with a preference for Gulf of America operational familiarity.

Other Requirements:
  • Offshore and onshore travel as required.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments and adhere to strict safety protocols.
  • Valid certifications in relevant safety and technical fields are desirable.
