Sample Management Technician – 2nd Shift

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a notable life sciences organization known for supporting laboratory research and scientific development in Covington, KY.

Location: Covington, KY
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Pay: $18.70/hour
Schedule: 2nd Shift | Tuesday–Saturday | 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
Contract: 1-Year Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a Sample Management Technician to support laboratory operations through accurate sample and inventory handling, documentation, and administrative support. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a professional and regulated laboratory environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable following established procedures while working collaboratively with laboratory personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine sample and inventory management activities, including receipt, check-in, login, labeling, inventory, transport, and check-out of laboratory samples and materials.

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Sample Management team and laboratory staff.

  • Accurately maintain sample tracking records, inventory documentation, and related laboratory information.

  • Communicate task status, sample information, and issues to supervisors and appropriate laboratory personnel.

  • Learn and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory guidelines, applicable procedures, and sample storage requirements.

  • Support appropriate response to environmental unit alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities when required.

  • Complete daily assignments accurately, efficiently, and safely while meeting established timelines.

  • Maintain an organized work environment and follow applicable laboratory and safety requirements.

  • Perform additional duties and assignments as needed.

QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Technical certificate, vocational training, or relevant academic coursework is a plus.

  • 0–1 year of relevant experience preferred; entry-level candidates with applicable education, training, or laboratory exposure are encouraged to apply.

  • Previous experience in a laboratory, healthcare, pharmaceutical, inventory, warehouse, or other regulated environment is a plus.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate tracking and documentation.

  • Ability to follow written procedures and SOPs consistently.

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize daily assignments and complete work accurately and on time.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Dependable and safety-conscious approach to daily work.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM–12:30 AM

  • Tuesday–Saturday

  • 100% Onsite in Covington, KY

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.

  • May involve handling and transporting laboratory samples and materials in accordance with established procedures.

  • May require participation in on-call responsibilities related to environmental unit alarms.

Pay Details: $18.70 per hour
