Department: Laboratory

Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services, this person is responsible for the technical and scientific oversight in clinical area of specialty. Assigned area of specialty which can include Chemistry OR Hematology, Coag and Urinalysis. Oversees evaluation and maintenance of new and existing instrumentation/ procedures. Develops and monitors quality control programs related to a specific section. Maintains policies and procedures that meet State, JCAHO and other agency requirements. Oversees training and performance of section personnel. Performs all duties of section staff.

Minimum Education:
Possesses a Bachelor's Degree in laboratory technology or related science


Minimum Experience/Skills:
Five (5) years experience in a clinical laboratory in area of specialty


Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License OR California Clinical Laboratory Specialty License
