Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Shift Type: On-Campus Instruction

Compensation: $27.00 per hour
CDI College is currently seeking a qualified and dynamic Pharmacy Assistant Instructor for a full-time, 6-month contract opportunity based out of our Edmonton City Centre Campus. In this role, you will deliver engaging, hands-on instruction to students enrolled in our Pharmacy Assistant program, guiding them toward successful careers in the healthcare and pharmacy sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Curriculum DeliveryDeliver engaging and effective instruction in the Pharmacy Assistant program curriculum.
Plan, prepare, and implement lesson plans that meet the learning objectives of the course.
Use diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including lectures, group discussions, and hands-on laboratory activities.
Provide academic support to students, including tutoring, mentoring, and guidance.
Monitor and evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and practical participation.
Offer constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and clinical skills.
Contribute to the development and updating of course materials to ensure relevance to current industry standards.
Align program content with current trends, regulations, and needs in the pharmacy and healthcare sector.
Participate in program reviews and make recommendations for improvements.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and overall performance.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and provincial regulatory requirements.
Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to institutional goals.
Establish and maintain connections with local pharmacies and healthcare partners to facilitate student placements or program improvement.
Stay updated on developments in the pharmacy practice field to bring current, real-world knowledge into the classroom.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Assist in student recruitment and retention efforts as needed.
Support the coordination of field practicums or clinical internships for students.
Address student concerns and mediate conflicts when necessary.
Education: Degree, diploma, or certification as a Pharmacy Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacist from a recognized institution.
Experience: Three or more years of professional experience in a pharmacy setting.
Instructional Experience: A minimum of 1 year of instructional experience, or a commitment to hold/earn a certificate in adult learning.
Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches.
Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation.
Ability to motivate and inspire students to succeed in healthcare.
High standards of behavior, a professional attitude, and a commitment to quality service.
Ability to work cooperatively with other instructors and campus staff.
Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of students, providing balanced feedback and treating all students equitably.
Willingness to learn and use educational technology to enhance the student learning experience.
