We are seeking a Construction Testing Technician to join our laboratory team in West Valley City, UT. This is a full-time opportunity for individuals interested in a hands-on role testing construction materials and supporting infrastructure development. Whether you're starting your career or looking to grow in civil or geotechnical engineering, we want to hear from you.
Compensation: $18-20/hour (depending on experience)
Location: West Valley City, UT
FLSA Exemption: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (schedule may vary)
What you'll be doing:
  • Receive and test construction materials such as soils, aggregates, and concrete
  • Perform laboratory testing including:
    • Moisture Content
    • Sieve Analysis
    • Atterberg Limits
    • Proctor Compaction
    • Consolidation
    • Direct Shear
    • Compressive Strength
  • Record accurate data and report findings to the Laboratory Manager
  • Maintain lab equipment and workspace according to safety and quality standards

What you have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Willingness to follow procedures and contribute to team success

What will make you stand out:
  • 1 year of experience in a similar lab or materials testing role
  • ACI or WAQTC certifications
  • Coursework or degree in civil engineering, construction management, or geology

Preferred Certification(s):
  • ACI - Concrete Field Testing Technician
  • WAQTC - Soils, Aggregate, or Asphalt
