Job description

Job Summary:        

  • Perform and review various routine and complex clinical laboratory tests according to departmental policies and professional standards to include maintenance, calibration and quality control in a cost-effective manner.    
  • Prepare test reports and notify appropriate healthcare professional of atypical/critical values with documentation.    
  • Assist with clerk, phlebotomy, specimen processing and pathology assistant functions as needed.    
  • Assume responsibility for complex problem-solving, exceptions handling, and student clinical training.     
  • Collect/Process chain of custody urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests.    
  • Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.      
  • Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.     

Education:                
Associate's degree in clinical laboratory sciences or equivalent with completion of clinical requirements. National certification required.                  

Experience:                
Six months of clinical laboratory experience preferred.                

Additional Skills/Abilities:                
Must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, remain calm under stress, and communicate effectively. Basic computer skills required.
