Job description

Beloit Health System at Beloit Memorial Hospital is hiring for is looking for a Student Radiology Technologist for our Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

  • Shift: 1st, varied
  • Schedule: Varied-Per Diem
  • Hours per week: Varied- Per Diem
  • Benefits Status: Not Eligible
  • Department: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

The Student Radiology Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab assists Radiologic Technologists and Nursing staff in the performance of their duties. The Student Radiology Technologist provides patient care essential to Cath Lab procedures using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. The Student Radiology Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab will:

  • Move and transporting of patients.
  • Procedure chart preparation: pulling of old chart to act as a resource, printing patient ID stickers, referencing past studies in Synapse cardiovascular for that patient and preparing billing slips.
  • Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Help/assist in the following: pulling supplies, pre-procedure room preparation, patient preparation, procedure flow and post-procedure care of the patient.
  • Practices aseptic techniques as necessary.
  • Selects contrast based on patient lab work.
  • Assist in cleaning of the labs and room
  • Answer phone and takes messages.
  • Initiate basic life support if necessary.
  • Stocking supplies/linens/contrast in procedure rooms.

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiology program
  • CPR certification within 3 months of hire
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Basic computer skills, experience with EMR helpful
  • Must adhere to established hospital and Cardiovascular Services department policies, rules, and regulations
  • Maintain ethical conduct and keep confidential personal and medical information about patients
