Summary:

Hitachi's R&D Center, located in Santa Clara, CA, serves as a pivotal technology hub to support Hitachi's global Social Innovation business. Our focus spans original and applied research, technology innovation, intellectual property creation, and solving real-world challenges. We collaborate closely with Hitachi's product and business divisions, contributing to Hitachi's IoT and AI business across a variety of industries, with a special focus on optimized manufacturing.

We are looking for a Cloud Services Architect to join our team. In this role, you will help design and implement system architecture for various Industrial IoT applications, solutions and services that can seamlessly scale across multi cloud providers and heterogeneous deployments. Duties include research technology landscape, architecting of product and services, and build differentiators.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand business problems and then design and develop required designs for scalable, secure, reliable Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure) deployments

• Work in cross-disciplinary teams with industry experts and be able to understand and build upon previous end-to-end design and architecture and add differentiators in the Cloud component.

• Architect data processing pipelines, machine learning and big data algorithms.

• Be hands-on and willing to implement and test part of the proposed architecture depending on the requirements of the project.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with at least 10 years of industry experience in Cloud Services development.

• Experience in cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure, database, and visualization systems with the ability to pick up new languages and technologies quickly.

• Experience in cloud, and distributed systems principles such as load balancing, networks, scaling, in-memory vs. disk, multi-tenancy

• Experience with Large Scale/ Big Data methods with aim to reduce overall cost and improve performance.

• Experience in hands on development, architecting, designing and building distributed cloud based software systems.

• Experience in go-to-market strategies and creating new cloud business

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

For California only (as required by California's Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $96,960 - $121,200. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America's variable pay program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
