This facility is a designated Children's Hospital within a hospital and is one of only 8 Children's Hospitals in Minnesota. It is home to the region's only Level III NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Pediatric Hospitalist service, PICU, Pediatric Cancer Center, Pediatric Therapy Center, inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation unit, and a pediatric behavioral health and substance abuse treatment center. The facility is a supporting member of NACHRI and participates in the Vermont Oxford Network (VON) database and quality initiatives, reflecting its commitment to excellence in pediatric care.

Physician - Neonatology
Job Details:
  • Join a well-established team of 8 MDs, 4 NNPs, 1 Neonatal PA, 1 Neonatal Hospitalist, and an outstanding nursing staff
  • Work within a Level III NICU featuring 20 private rooms, all capable of converting to double occupancy to accommodate twins
  • Average 330 NICU admissions per year with an average daily census of 14 infants and 1,700 births per year at labor and delivery with NICU delivery coverage
  • Participate in an active Neonatal Transport Team serving Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, with all team members trained in transports
  • 24/7 in-house coverage structure: physicians in-house during the day and on-call at night, with APPs in-house around the clock
  • NICU Follow-up Clinic for high-risk patients operates one day per week
  • Strong OB physician and perinatologist support with 24/7 OB Hospitalist model
  • Birthplace features 13 beds and 3 additional Midwifery suites
  • Well-established and collaborative relationships with Level IV NICUs in the Twin Cities area
  • Access to a broad range of pediatric specialists and sub-specialists on staff, ranging from oncology to neurology
  • Patients and families are supported by local foundations and an on-site 5-bedroom Ronald McDonald House for families of patients requiring ongoing medical care
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology required
