This is an in-person sales role focused on developing new business, expanding existing accounts, and helping customers find the right label solution for their product, packaging, and operational needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for prospecting, managing a sales pipeline, quoting opportunities, coordinating with internal teams, and closing profitable business across a range of label applications including prime labels, promotional labels, variable data, and specialty constructions.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience selling pressure sensitive labels and brings a strong understanding of label converting, substrates, adhesives, print methods, embellishments, and production requirements. This person should be highly self-motivated, commercially sharp, and confident in front of customers ranging from operators and brand managers to procurement and executive decision makers. They should be comfortable working cross-functionally with estimating, customer operations, prepress, and production teams to ensure jobs are quoted accurately, launched smoothly, and executed at a high level. A strong candidate will combine hustle and relationship-building ability with technical credibility and a track record of winning and retaining business.

Calyx Containers was founded in 2016 with a mission to raise the standard in packaging through speed, innovation, and service. Today, Calyx is a growing packaging partner serving leading brands with rigid packaging, flexible packaging, labels, and emerging technology solutions that help customers move faster and operate smarter. We are building a more modern packaging company, one that combines manufacturing excellence with digital tools, better data, and a relentless focus on customer outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow new label business within Utah and targeted regional accounts
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through quote, sample, close, and launch
  • Build strong relationships with brand owners, procurement teams, operations leaders, and packaging buyers
  • Identify customer needs and recommend label constructions, materials, print methods, and finishing options
  • Partner with internal estimating and operations teams to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive quotes
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate forecasting updates
  • Conduct in-person customer meetings, plant tours, and onsite visits regularly
  • Work closely with customer service, prepress, and production to ensure successful project handoff and execution
  • Monitor market activity, competitor positioning, and pricing dynamics within the label space
  • Support strategic account growth by identifying cross-sell opportunities across broader Calyx packaging offerings

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience in pressure sensitive labels
  • Proven track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts
  • Strong knowledge of label materials, adhesives, facestocks, liners, finishing options, and application requirements
  • Understanding of flexographic, digital, and other relevant print technologies
  • Experience working with quotes, specs, artwork workflows, and production timelines
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Highly organized with strong CRM and pipeline discipline
  • Must be based in Utah and able to work in person
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel locally for customer meetings

Preferred

  • Existing relationships in CPG, food and beverage, supplements, personal care, cannabis, or adjacent packaging markets
  • Experience selling premium or technically complex label solutions
  • Familiarity with packaging components beyond labels
