Louisiana Tech University seeks applicants for aProfessional-in-Residence(PIR)faculty position intheChemical Engineeringprogram.This is a10-month,non-tenure track positionwith adesiredstart timeofSeptember 1, 2026. Appointments are for one yearand are renewed annuallyupon satisfactory performance.Applicants must have experience working in a chemical plant, refinery, or otherindustrialoperation within the Chemical Engineering field. Five years of experience or moreand18 semester credit hours of graduatestudyin Chemical Engineeringor a related disciplinearestrongly preferred.

The successful candidate will manageatwo-story, 3,400-square foot teaching lab that houses process control systems, distillation columns, heat exchangers, fluid flow and pumping equipment, evaporation, absorption, and drying systems, reactors, and lab-scale paper production line.ThisYouTube video features the teaching lab and the PIR:

Traditionally, the PIR teaches one class per 11-week academic quarter for three quarters per year. These classes are JuniorLaboratory, Senior Laboratory, and Process Safety in the ChemicalIndustry.
