Responsibilities
The Medical Technologist for Northside Hospital's Choice+ Local Program develops and monitors test systems, and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
  1. Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
    1. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR
  1. Associate's degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
    1. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR
  1. Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  2. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
  3. Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
  4. Personnel must submit to a color-acuity screening test prior to performing duties

PREFERRED
  1. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  2. Must meet competency level requirements for the Choice+ Local Program.
