Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Lab Technician
Role Overview
We are seeking a disciplined and safety-conscious Quality Assurance Lab Technician to join our production team. Operating on a stable Monday through Friday day shift, this role is a critical link between laboratory analysis and live plant operations. You will be responsible for preparing and testing process-stage and finished product samples using both wet chemistry and instrumental methods. Additionally, you will monitor real-time plant data, log information into a tracking system, and collaborate with operators to ensure overall product quality. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical curiosity, precise record-keeping skills, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Testing & Process Monitoring
โ€ข Sample Testing: Prepare, process, and test raw material, in-process, and finished product samples using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.
โ€ข Instrumentation Care: Operate, calibrate, and perform light maintenance on standard laboratory equipment (including pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers).
โ€ข Plant Inspections: Conduct daily process monitoring tests throughout the production facility; compare equipment readouts against established standards to verify system accuracy.
โ€ข Operational Feedback: Promptly document all testing procedures and notify plant operations of any required adjustments to optimize product quality.
Data Integrity & Lab Administration
โ€ข LIMS Tracking: Enter, log, and report analytical data daily using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and standard computer applications.
โ€ข Traceability: Maintain organized archive samples of tested products to confirm and verify test results whenever necessary.
โ€ข Inventory & Housekeeping: Monitor testing supply levels and notify supervisors when re-ordering is required; maintain a pristine, sanitized workspace (5S) and properly store all testing apparatus.
Compliance & Safety
โ€ข Regulatory Adherence: Maintain full awareness of and strictly adhere to FDA, GMP, EPA, OSHA, and company-specific environmental health and safety guidelines.
โ€ข Safety Certification: Complete all mandatory safety certifications and consistently utilize approved safety equipment on the production floor.
Qualifications & Requirements
โ€ข Education: A 2-year degree in a science discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science) or equivalent technical experience is preferred.
โ€ข Technical & Math Skills:
oProven experience with standard lab documentation and basic calculations associated with laboratory testing.
oDemonstrated computer literacy using instrument operating programs and commercial software (MS Word, Excel).
โ€ข Physical Requirements:
oAbility to lift up to 40 lbs.
oAbility to stand and walk for extended periods within an active, multi-level industrial plant environment.
