Laboratory Technologist (Medical Technologist / Lab Scientist)

We have an excellent opportunity for a Laboratory Technologist to join our Clinical Pathology team dedicated to Early Development Animal Research studies in Greenfield, IN.
Schedule: Daytime hours
Job Responsibilities
  • Performs established procedures for non-clinical testing as required in all assigned laboratory disciplines and is responsible for analyzing specimens whose results are then reported to the pharmaceutical company.
  • Responsible for analyzing animal specimens in conjunction with early development drug studies
  • Document and resolve any specimen discrepancies. Notify laboratory management when specimen discrepancies are not resolved.
  • Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of specimens.
  • Ensure the validity of test results through the performance of established quality control procedures. Interpret quality control results according to established departmental procedures.
  • Resolve routine and non-routine assay problems.
  • Prepare workstation and instrumentation for the assigned testing
  • Operate instruments to perform testing in accordance with established written procedures.
  • Receive, open and place in service all reagents according to SOPs.
  • Prepare and properly label reagents and document according to SOPs.
  • Process and ship samples according to study specific instructions.
  • Perform maintenance on instruments and equipment daily, weekly, monthly, and document.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, biotechnology, biomedical science, toxicology, or related science field AND one year training and/or experience working in hospital or similar laboratory performing clinical laboratory testing

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 or more years of experience working in hospital, clinical, research or pharmaceutical laboratory setting

Additional Job Standards
  • Comfortable working with samples that have come for animal research
  • Candidates do not need to hold ASCP or AMT certification to be considered
  • Training is provided to support success in the role
