Job description

Medical Lab Technician/Medical Technologist (MLT/MT)

Pinehurst Medical Clinic is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to join our team. This position plays a key role in patient care working with our providers in providing the best in patient care by performing all laboratory tests run in-house in the Pinehurst Medical Clinic Laboratory. This is a part-time day shift position, 20 hours per week and does not require weekend or holiday hours.

A day in the life of a PMC Medical Lab Technician/Medical Technologist (MLT/MT) will include:

  • Responsible for the performance of in-house laboratory tests which may include the collection of specimens.
  • Maintains positive specimen identification throughout the laboratory testing and reporting process.
  • Prepares reagents, solutions, and stains.
  • Recognizes abnormal lab values. Follow protocol for rechecking, accepting, and calling results to the physician or designated clinical person.
  • Assists the Lab Manager in maintaining supplies and in ordering supplies.
  • Maintains appropriate records (QC, specimen, instrument maintenance, etc.) as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate of Science Degree required.
  • Certification as an MLT with an accredited agency required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience performing moderate and high-complexity testing in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.

Day Shift (Monday-Friday) No weekends or holidays
