TeleWorld Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Hardware Lab Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, configuration, testing, and support of hardware systems within our development and validation lab. You'll work closely with design, test, and manufacturing engineers to ensure all hardware platforms meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage lab requirements, materials, and request for setup changes, test bed issues, and new system builds
  • Systems engineering responsible for planning and implementing customer lab mirror systems or pre-staging systems prior to customer deployment.
  • Requires ability to rack/stack servers and perform RAN and core systems installations
  • BIOS upgrades, FW upgrades, OS installation and configuration remotely
  • Build out, configure switch and mgmt. interfaces for remote access for test engineers
  • Support issues and resolve promptly for C&I teams.
  • Maintaining current systems maximum uptime and resolving HW issues with 3rd party or internally with the ability to realize the what /which equipment/process is needed and how to solve the issue in a timely manner.
  • A clear understanding of electronics and a general handiness is important with experience using DVM, Ethernet test sets, Fiber test sets, and spectrum analyzer. This will be hands on utilization of testing equipment or testing circuits using various tools such as network diagnostic tools Wireshark, spectrum analyzer, power meters, and signal generators for RF issues, or DVM, shunts, current clamps for electrical, and standard power/hand tools such as drills, jigsaw, band saws, hydraulic crimpers, and other hand tools
  • Ability to analyze test engineers needs to plan and implement systems tailored to those test requirements.
  • Perform regular tests on systems to ensure all components are running well
  • Maintain lab inventory, support contracts, and order components and materials as required.
  • Maintain/create network diagrams, IP plans, and CRLs
  • Travel to customer sites for field installations and support. Travel would be ~20% of the time but could be greater.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, prioritizing and accurately completing them in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Ability to solve technical problems independently.
  • Ability to analyze use of all network facilities.
  • Ability to interact well with all levels of management, co-workers, and customers.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Strong computer skills, especially with excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with Windows OS, RHEL/Oracle Linux OS, Ubuntu, Centos, and Wind River OS installation, configuration, basic network configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Physical installations of all RAN and Core equipment including servers, storage, switches, Rus, MMUs.
Qualifications
  • Proven working experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role maintaining and configuring Dell and HPE enterprise servers
  • Experience in telecom industry working with 4G and 5G RAN and CORE systems
  • Basic working knowledge with virtualization and containerization (VMware, OpenStack, OpenShift).
  • Experience with monitoring systems
  • Solid background in actual installations and knowledge of DC power, breakers, Fiber, RF, and grounding
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Requires 5-10 yrs experience
