Overview

This role supports meaningful work, career growth and a real impact on patient health. The position is based in Phoenix, AZ.

Work Schedule: Tuesday โ€“ Saturday, 2:00 pm โ€“ 10:30 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of Molecular, Coagulation, Allergy and Serology, and Microbiology.
  • Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner.
  • Directly supervise, train and mentor laboratory personnel in the department.
  • Monitor daily workflow in the lab and ensure adequate assay coverage.
  • Staff the shifts in the department appropriately and manage scheduling.
  • Research and resolve production errors, escalating when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained through quality control.
  • Prepare and maintain quality assurance records and documents.
  • Evaluate new process improvements and make recommendations.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports on a regular basis.
  • Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency in technical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and administer policies and procedures.
  • Administrate payroll and personnel files and perform administrative duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
  • 2 years or more of experience as a Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience.
  • 1 year or more of experience in Molecular, Coagulation, Allergy and Serology.
  • ASCP or AMT certification.
Additional Job Standards
  • Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations.
  • Understanding of laboratory operations, policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and make decisions accordingly.
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
