Job Title:Clinical Lab Services Lead - EastDepartment:East | Laboratory

Scope of Position

The Rapid Response Laboratory encompasses specimen processing and testing services within the Department of Clinical Laboratories, East Clinical Laboratory. The East Clinical Laboratory (RRL) provides training for medical technology students. The laboratory is staffed 24 hours per day, including Saturday and Sunday, and all holidays.

Position Summary

This Lead Medical Technologist directs the daily operations and provides leadership within the testing areas of the Rapid Response Laboratory. This technologist performs specialized laboratory procedures, verifies, and reports test requests and results, and is directly responsible for the technical quality of tests performed in the laboratory. Administrative duties include but are not limited to assisting the manager with completion of annual performance evaluations for selected individuals, technical procedure writing/implementation, instrument validations, shift scheduling, training and record keeping, CAP/AABB/JC compliance. This technologist works under the direction of the division director(s) and lab manager.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire: Bachelor's degree in medical technology or biological science degree with MT certification. Prefer an MT with 4 years of bench experience. Supervisory experience also preferred.
