Job Description

Eurofins Environment Testing in Little Rock, AR is seeking a Sample Receiving Technician to join our team. Our laboratory specializes in environmental testing.  Providing analytical data and support to a diverse range of clients.

The Sample Receiving Technician is responsible for logging and tracking the receipt and shipment of samples into and out of the laboratory, verifying sample receipt, and supporting accurate and timely documentation. This role assists with preparing bottle kits for client delivery, sample login, labeling, routing, prioritization, and storage in accordance with Chain of Custody requirements and documented procedures. The Sample Receiving Technician may also support sample pick-up and delivery, customer service, courier duties, and the proper disposal of samples and waste in accordance with applicable procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and unload incoming samples or consignments in accordance with SOP; verify receipt against the Chain of Custody (COC), match samples to the corresponding quote, and document discrepancies daily. Review COCs for accuracy, completeness, and correctness, and seek resolution when needed.
  • Log samples into the laboratory information management system daily and assign job numbers for tracking purposes; distribute associated paperwork to Project Managers.
  • Label samples with assigned job numbers and deliver them to the appropriate laboratories for analysis each day.
  • Prepare bottle kits daily for shipment to clients for sample collection and return analysis, following established procedures, including EPA and DOT requirements.
  • Ship samples to other laboratories in accordance with DOT regulations when testing is not performed at the local facility.
  • Dispose of spent samples, waste, and other potentially hazardous materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Clean and organize the department daily to maintain a safe, orderly work environment.
  • Maintain and promote safety by conducting all operations in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
  • Stock supplies and assist with inventory management to ensure appropriate quantities of materials are available to perform assigned tasks.
  • Perform sample splitting and composites as requested.
  • Perform courier duties as needed to support laboratory and client requirements.
  • Comply with all driver procedures, certification requirements, and company driver policies.
  • Organize walk-in coolers to support sample storage and retrieval.
  • Ship empty coolers back to clients and other Eurofins laboratories; log all outgoing coolers to maintain a detailed cooler inventory.
  • Conduct all client interactions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by local management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license to operate company vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills include; ability to accurately input data into LIMS systems and ability to manage multiple emails.
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs routinely and safely and must be able to work standing for most of the day
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
Additional Information

This is a full time position Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Some weekend work and overtime may be required.

Pay Rate Range for this position is $17 -$21 / hour (DOE).
