Description:
No first-time travelers.
Cases are done with two technologists; one scrubs and the other monitors hemodynamics.
Registered Nurses administer conscious sedation.
Sometimes there will be a fourth person, either a Registered Nurse or a technologist, depending on the case.
There is a Lead Technologist responsible for making the room assignments.
The facility serves as a STEMI receiving facility.
Experience with cardiac, coronary, vascular, peripheral, general interventional radiology, and neuro intervention is essential.
Candidates must be comfortable with conscious and moderate sedation, procedural processes, airway management, and cardiac drips such as integrilin, dopamine, and vasopressors.
The department has five suites: two primarily for coronary cases, one for peripheral cases, one for vascular and neuro cases, and one for electrophysiology cases.
The average number of cases per day varies from 10 to 22 total.
Call is required, with a rotation for inpatient and emergent cases, approximately once per week.
There is a weekend call requirement of one weekend per month, running from Friday evening through Monday morning.
The cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled in a 13-week assignment.
Charting is done using the Cerner system.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not required.
