Job Title - Lab Operations & Inventory Assistant (Contractor)
Work Location - Cranbury NJ
Job Summary
Under the direction of the PD Operations Manager, maintain the 5S lab layouts, support lab safety efforts, and support the material management, equipment management, and stock room maintenance as a member of the PD Operations Department. Support the Process Development (PD) Labs by acting as a point of contact for their daily lab activities and operational needs.
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the shared stock room and shared chemical stock room(s) owned by PD Ops and support 5S efforts for the reorganization of PD lab consumables.
  • Communicate with PD teams, the procurement team, warehouse, and PD managers to maintain laboratory supplies requested by end users.
  • Support the inventory and chemical management efforts of PD labs and act as a point of contact for inventory verifications, purchase approvals, and inventory transports across WuXi BioDev US sites.
  • Coordinate with PD personnel to maintain PD material stock to avoid shortage and expiration.
  • Help maintain EHS standards and 5S application in the PD labs.
  • Coordinate with lab owners and support 5S efforts for the reorganization of PD Labs
  • Support the management of equipment in PD labs by submitting work orders and supporting the scheduling of service, calibrations, and maintenance schedule etc.
  • Act as equipment owner for shared lab equipment, such as the autoclave and glass washer. Operate, compile usage logs, and support the daily scheduling of the glass washer and autoclave.
  • Support the maintenance of in lab cleanliness and walk labs frequently to ensure labs are clean, organized, and free of tripping hazards.
  • Support lab manager to work with company's EHS department to coordinate EHS related activities within the PD Labs, such as safety walkthroughs and EHS audits.
  • Act as a point of contact for communication between PD Ops and other departments, such as the PD labs, Warehouse, Procurement, Finance, GSC, F&E, Calibrations, IT, and additional support staff.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field or associate degree with 1+ years of experience in a biopharmaceutical or biological contract testing/manufacturing organization, or in a laboratory setting.
  • Good oral & written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and train on applicable SOPs for PD operations and PD lab functions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and prioritization skills are greatly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment management or stock room management is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a GMP environment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work fully on site and take on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00
