Job description

Join our Manufacturing team - production, assembly, operation of equipment, and more - and help us deliver an unmatched selection of products made with quality materials and workmanship. The Assay Lab supports production and customer needs by providing accurate precious metal analysis and maintaining high quality control standards across materials and processes.

TheAssay Technician performs fire assay and related analytical techniques to determine gold content in precious metal samples while ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform fire assay analysis on production alloys, refining material, customer scrap, and internal samples
  • Prepare metal samples for x-ray fluorescence (XRF) testing
  • Maintain strict attention to detail throughout analytical processes to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Log samples, determine appropriate testing method(s), and track inventory within the laboratory database & Oracle system
  • Conduct daily quality control checks and document results
  • Safely handle chemicals, including concentrated acids, and operate high-temperature furnaces and lab equipment
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning of analytical tools
  • Support lab operations, including sample inventory cleanout and general lab organization

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical environment
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques or analytical processes
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and document results accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications
