Are you passionate about using chemistry and analytical testing to ensure product quality and make a real impact? If so, the Quality Assurance Lab Tech role with Ingevity might be a great fit for you!
As a QA Lab Technician, you will join a production support team that works closely with production and our plant chemists in achieving the best products for our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing In Process Samples, Shipment Samples, Special Request Samples and approving incoming Raw Materials. We are a 24/7 manufacturing facility, meaning this position will work a Dupont Schedule (12-hour rotating shifts) and will support the team on weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Schedule Details:
  • Rotating day and night shifts on a consistent cycle
  • Typically, 3-4 consecutive workdays per shift rotation
  • Scheduled weekend work shared evenly across teams
  • Overtime eligible and about 16 hours a month of overtime (time and a half pay) guaranteed

How you will impact Ingevity:
  • Work on a 12-hour rotating schedule (Dupont Schedule rotating from day shift to night shift) to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Perform chemical and instrumental analyses on in-process and finished product samples to support product quality
  • Accurately record, manage, and communicate data using laboratory systems (e.g., Proficy, SAP) and standard documentation practices
  • Verify product and raw material quality through testing and maintain proper sample handling and retention
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate a range of laboratory instruments (e.g., Karl Fischer, GC, GPC, IC, FT-IR, UV/VIS, XRF)
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and maintain organized, compliant lab records, including SPC charts and notebooks
  • Learn and apply new testing methods while supporting continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., R&R studies)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet analytical needs and support business objectives
  • Contribute to team success by sharing knowledge and assisting in training new team members
  • Promote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment through active participation in safety practices and inspections

What you need to succeed:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Associate in Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • One year of Chemical lab experience or chemical plant industrial experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience working in a rotating shift position will help you acclimate to the Dupont schedule (12 Hour rotating shifts) we work to support 24/7 manufacturing
  • Laboratory experience and instrumental analysis preferred.
  • Proficient in the operation of computers and software, documentation, and multi-tasking.
  • Must be able to communicate information in a clear, concise manner required.
  • Must have sufficient physical dexterity to perform laboratory evaluations accurately and timely.
