The Hospital for Extended Recovery, Sentara's 35 bed Long-Term Acute Care hospital, is recruiting a

Respiratory Manager. The Respiratory Manager is responsible for the overall function and professional growth of the respiratory therapy department. This includes being responsible and accountable for daily operations of respiratory care on a twenty-four hour basis, seven days a week. The manager serves as a mentor by role modeling a professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care. This role may need to collaborate with various department leaders to develop policies, manage staffing and address issues related to the delivery of respiratory care services. This role also functions as Moderate Complexity Lab Manager over point of care testing and has the opportunity to manage other clinical departments as well.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy required, Bachelors Degree preferred.

Certifications/Licensure:

  • Respiratory Therapist State License.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS within six months of employment required.

Experience:

  • Five years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting.
  • Two years supervisory experience preferred.
