Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific where you'll contribute to managing logistics operations for clinical trials, pharmaceutical products, and scientific equipment. As a Logistics Specialist I, you'll coordinate shipments, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain supply chain operations. You'll handle shipping and receiving activities seamlessly, communicate with internal and external customers as the first point of contact, build work orders within the calibration management software / internal asset management, manage Outlook inbox for GSS Business Unit, collaborate with third-party calibration suppliers, and other tasks as assigned to deliver excellent service. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
Your success in this position hinges on your outstanding attention to detail, capacity to work autonomously, and your demonstrated proficiency in efficiently managing assets. Excellent organizational and time management skills are crucial.
Education:
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field

Experience:
  • 1 year experience in warehouse, shipping, operations preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, customs procedures, and international trade regulations
  • Knowledgeable in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Outlook and Work, as well as Adobe Acrobat
  • Advanced English language skills, both written and verbal; additional languages beneficial
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal/external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO/IEC 17025 is advantageous
  • Experience with GMP
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience with quality management systems and SOPs
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Demonstrated analytical and process improvement capabilities

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Primarily office/warehouse-based with periods of sitting and repetitive tasks
  • May need to lift up to 50 lbs and use material handling equipment
  • Potential use of personal protective equipment such as lab coats and safety gloves
