Job description

Bastian Automation, a division of Toyota Automated Logistics, is seeking a Robotics Technician to work in Georgetown, KY and travel to clients for AGV installations.
The Robotics Technician will provide electrical & mechanical support, troubleshooting, install AGV Systems, and training of autonomous vehicle technologies. They will provide both remote and on-site technical support to the end users of our vehicles as needed. This position will report directly to an Operations Team Lead and will work with PM's, PE's, Support Team and Engineering Team in the development and deployment of AGV Systems. Additionally, they will provide vehicle and system integration support as needed.
Job Functions
  • Assists engineers in proto-typing, testing, assembly, and modifications of AGVs.
  • Setup and Program AGV Systems
  • Create technical instruction sheets.
  • Able to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical.
  • Have wiring, and soldering skills.
  • In the Lab Logistics and Support for Test / Build.
  • Able to prepare and deliver technical reports.

Travel Requirements
  • Up to 50% overnight travel % overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Bastian Automation)
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and passport

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Associates degree in Electrical Technology (or equivalent experience) a plus.
  • Basic computer skills: emails, Word, Excel, Networking
  • Meet deadlines, good communication skills.
  • Customer Service skills.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Comfortable working with tools of trade - Basic Hand Tools, Drilling, Tapping, and Voltmeter.
  • Working experience with Automation Industry technologies (PLC's, Motors, Servos, Motor Controllers, Power Circuits, RFID, Encoders, Sensors etc....)
  • Any Industrial Maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and circuit design.
  • Effective at integrating off the shelf electrical component systems and or designing custom solutions as needed.
  • Ability to advise, mentor, coach, teach, and effectively communicate with colleagues and customers.
  • Must be able to take direction or lead if needed, as well as work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift / move up to 70lbs.
  • Must be willing to travel - up to 50%
  • Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.
