Job description

Registered Nurse GI Lab

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for team members who will help advance our vision to be the premier hospital of choice for patients, physicians and employees. IMC is currently hiring a Registered Nurse GI Lab, who under the general supervision of the Unit Director, OR Clinical Coordinator, and with the authority of the Chief Nursing Officer, will apply nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation) in caring for patients. Effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other health team members. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

Work Hours: Fulltime usually 36 hours per week. 0615 to 1445 Monday-Friday, Five 8 hour workdays, more or less to provide departmental coverage as required to meet patient care needs. Call rotation with other PACU nurses to provide coverage from 0800 to 2000, including weekends and holidays.

Education
  • Graduate of state approved RN School of nursing.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Current license as a RN in the State of Louisiana.
Training and Experience
  • Previous experience preferred, but not required.
Job Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles.
  • Basic knowledge of biology and chemistry.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing procedures.
  • Ability to direct other team members in an effective manner.
