Job description

Work Shift: 10am-6:30pm Monday - Friday. Minimum of 30 hours per week, but may increase to 40 depending on department needs.

The Target Pay for this position is $25.87 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

Job Purpose/Overview

Prepares samples, sets up instruments, runstestsand reads/interprets, and releases results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilityrequired.   • Must be proficient in at least three clinical areas

  • Responsible for performing tests such as Parasitology, Hematology,Chemistryand Serology

  • Process and prepare samples

  • Perform all required quality control per QualityAssuranceguidelines

  • Traininall areas to include Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Hematology,UA,andCoagulantaccording to all SOP's

  • Oversee the entering and releasing of results

  • Read UA slides atthe required rate

  • Reconcile pending list

  • Performother duties as assigned

EducationandExperience

  • Associates/bachelor's degree in medical technologyor MLTdegree in related fieldis preferred

  • Clinical laboratory experience in Hematologyis preferred

  • Laboratory skills and experience

  • General science background

  • Attention to detail and ability to workindependently

  • Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-pacedenvironment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill

  • Proficiencyin the English language which allows for participation in team meetings,accurateentry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions

  • Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

  • Stationary Position- must be able toremainin a stationary position for up to 2 hours.

  • Operatesa computer and other lab equipment accuratelyandefficiently

  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch

  • Required to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs.

  • Heavy microscopic work

  • The ability toobservedetails at close range

  • Extended hours may beneeded

  • Laboratoryenvironmentswith potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE
