JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Summary of the Job:
Executes safe nursing practice in the care of the patient requiring cardiac procedures in the Cath lab. Is accountable for direct care of the adult and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive procedures in the cardiac Cath lab. Can float to Cardiology Pre/post if necessary and would be accountable for direct pre and post procedure nursing care of the adult and geriatric patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current LA RN License required; Current BLS and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off
Must be able to work flexible hours and rotate call. Able to take on-call (must live or stay within 30 minutes of hospital for call)
Preferred Qualifications:
CCRN or CVRN preferred. 1 year cardiac cath lab, critical care, or emergency room experience preferred. Candidates with previous cardiac nursing experience or other procedural experience such as endoscopy, interventional radiology, surgery, etc. may be considered.
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, stooping, handling/feeling, talking
