Laboratory Medical Director

Location: Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School

Opportunity Criteria: Specialty – Pathology; Profession – Physician (MD, DO, Resident)

Position: Medical Director, Laboratory

Role Summary: The successful candidate will lead the Pathology Laboratory at Trinitas, overseeing all laboratory operations, providing clinical direction, ensuring CAP accreditation, and collaborating with clinical staff and physicians. As a faculty member (Assistant or Associate Professor), the director will also consult on cases and participate in tumor boards. Subspecialty experience in cytopathology is desirable.

  • Provide leadership for staff, including managers, supervisors, and senior technologists.
  • Plan, organize, and direct laboratory activities.
  • Serve as subject‑matter expert and consultant, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with CAP accreditation and maintain quality standards.
  • Consult with clinical staff and participate in tumor boards.

Requirements: MD, DO, or MBBS required. Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP). Academic rank and compensation commensurate with qualifications and academic experience. Women and diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
