UCT is looking for a talented Lab Analyst to join us in Hillsboro, Oregon!

The Lab Analyst I performs moderately complex laboratory tests and protocols following standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role is responsible for processing production samples, operating analytical equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting quality and safety programs. The position ensures compliance with cleanroom standards, identifies deviations from quality systems, and contributes to accurate, reliable data for reporting and decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Conduct laboratory tests and interpret results, ensuring accuracy and adherence to SOPs.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, logbooks, and input data for reports and summaries.
  • Plan and schedule daily work based on supervisor guidance and project priorities.
  • Identify and resolve routine laboratory issues, including supply and reagent availability.
  • Maintain cleanroom conditions, laboratory equipment, and safe waste disposal practices.
  • Follow QC/QA protocols and participate in audits, safety programs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and sample preparation.
  • Provide technical training to peers after achieving proficiency in assigned tasks.
  • Handle and analyze standard client samples independently and non-standard samples under supervision.
  • Support compliance activities and document processes accurately.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
 
  • Strong understanding of laboratory protocols, cleanroom practices, and quality systems.
  • Ability to follow QC/QA standards and maintain compliance with safety requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
  • Strong math and basic statistical skills with foundational knowledge of general chemistry.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and precision in handling hazardous chemicals and sensitive materials.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and using laboratory tools and equipment.
Education, Certifications, Requirements
 
  • AA degree (in chemistry or related discipline) with a minimum of 4 yrs relevant experience or a B.S. degree (in chemistry or related discipline) or an M.S degree with no relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience
