The Role

The Wet Lab Technician will be responsible for mixing and testing CMP slurries, operating wet lab characterization tools; executing test plans, generating test data, and maintaining CMP equipment


Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Mixes, filters, and documents slurry for testing
  • Coordinates with engineering and lab staff on slurry, chemistry and supply needs
  • Operates wafer polishing, metrology, and slurry characterization equipment
  • Measures slurry stability and product shelf-life on various analytical tools
  • Generates data on Malvern, AcoustoSizer, Celerity, E-chem Biologic SP-300, FTIR, HPLC, SurPASS, wafer-cutter & Bench-top polisher
  • Maintains CMP lab equipment
  • Operates in compliance with company safety practices
  • Fills and lifts slurry pails and canisters up to 55 pounds. Moves drums, totes and operates forklift.
  • Job requires standing and working in a lab setting for a substantial part of every day
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Wet Lab Supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient with basic chemistry, SDS, lab equipment and chemical handling processes
  • Minimum HS degree or GED required; some college preferred especially with chemistry courses/labs
  • 0 to 1 year of previous experience required
  • Excellent communication, data collection, time management and organizational skills required
  • Job requires standing and working in the lab for a substantial part of every day
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs. (See Physical Requirements and Working Conditions)
  • Technically inclined person with a desire to work on tools and chemistries
  • Person should be comfortable dealing with and handling chemicals
  • Excellence in understanding and following instructions
  • Familiarity with computer software and applications
  • Experience with CMP polishing and metrology will be considered a plus
  • Excellent safety, work performance and attendance records
  • Analytical sampling experience (pH, % solids, particle counts, titration) preferred
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Prior experience in the chemical industry a plus
  • Must be available to work 1st or 2nd shift as required.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
