Job Title - Manager, Process Engineering
General Summary
The Manager, Process Engineering will lead a team of 5-10 engineers and technicians focused on the development, optimization, and global deployment of manufacturing processes and equipment for fiber optic connectivity products. This role supports the Global Automation Engineering organization and is responsible for delivering scalable, automated, and high-performance manufacturing solutions across global factories. The role requires a hands-on technical leader capable of executing at a Principal Engineer level when required and solving complex technical challenges across multiple domains.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of engineers and technicians across multiple experience levels.
  • Drive process development and optimization for fiber optic connector manufacturing, including polishing, connectorization, and testing.
  • Lead the design and development of automation equipment to support process scalability and repeatability.
  • Maintain hands-on technical involvement in key development programs and complex problem-solving activities.
  • Structure and solve complex, ambiguous technical challenges using innovative and data-driven approaches.
  • Lead qualification and transfer of new processes and equipment to global manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborate with R&D, NPI, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to scale new technologies into production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, quality, capacity, and cost performance.
  • Manage project execution, including timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
  • Establish and track performance metrics to ensure successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Manage departmental capital and expense budgets and support cost reduction initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor team members, supporting development aligned with engineering career progression.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex technical challenges.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., DOE, Minitab, JMP).
  • Ability to communicate technical information across all organizational levels.

Desirable Qualifications Job Specifications
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent.
  • Strong expertise in fiber optic manufacturing processes or high-precision production environments.
  • Experience with global manufacturing deployment and technology transfer.
  • Experience working in fiber optic connectivity or similar high-precision industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and deliver results.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $153,000 based on hired level and experience. The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company's Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
