As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will accurately analyze and report all tests ordered by the Medical Staff in a timely manner and according to laboratory procedures and regulatory guidelines to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Every day, you will align with local and state requirements performs lab test procedures on patient specimens adhering to the Section’s Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

To be successful in this role, each day you will provide the following:

  • Deliver exceptional patient care by clinically correlating results, identifying biases, promptly reporting critical values, and completing all testing within established turn-around-time limits.
  • Maintain optimal equipment functionality by performing essential maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and coordinating vendor support for major automated instruments.
  • Ensure test accuracy and reliability through diligent execution of calibration and quality control procedures, meticulous record-keeping, and participation in assigned proficiency testing with leadership review.
  • Contribute to laboratory advancement by assisting in the evaluation and documentation for validating new procedures and equipment to provide cutting-edge technology.
  • Foster continuous professional development through active participation in continuing education, teaching, and training opportunities to enhance personal and team technical skills.
  • Manage laboratory resources efficiently by overseeing supply inventory, monitoring stock, placing orders, and ensuring proper storage, while completing all tasks and transitioning ongoing issues effectively during your shift.

Required:

Associates Of Science in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA - required upon hire or;

High School GED - upon hire and completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician) or; 

High School Graduate - upon hire and completed an official military medical laboratory course and held the military enlisted occupational speciality of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician). 

Preferred: 

Medical Laboratory Technician AMT (MLT-AMT) - upon hire preferred or; 

Medical Laboratory Technician ASCP (MLT) - upon hire preferred or; 

Medical Lab Tech AAB (MLTECH) - upon hire preferred
