Apidel Technologies is seeking a local contract Medical Lab Technician for a local contract job in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Description & Requirements

Position: Medical Technologist - Lab Technologist
Speciality: ASCP or NCA, BLS, Beckman Coulter
Duration: 13 Weeks of Contract to FTE
Location: Detroit, MI
Shift: Afternoon shift (2:30p-11p)
Required Skills:
• Education: Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
• Certification: BLS and a Recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA)
• Minimum 2-3 years previous experience in this role or similar.
• Experience with Beckman Coulter equipment (with AU system experience preferred).
Note: This is a local position based in Detroit, MI, and candidates will be fully responsible for covering all relocation expenses independently, including travel (airfare) and accommodation costs. If this does not align with your preferences, please feel free to opt out.
Job Summary:
• Under general supervision, performs routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Requires six months experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions are required.
Education/Experience:
• Completion of accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or clinical laboratory sciences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if completed coursework aligns with the duties of the specific Medical Technologist position.
• Coursework completed outside of the US must be verified by a NACES approved credential evaluation service.
Preferred Certification & Licensure:
• Certification at the technologist level from a nationally recognized agency, such as ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, or HEW is preferred
