Job description

Job Title: Lab Technician Location: Rocky Hill, CT Work Model: Onsite Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00/hr Type: 12-month contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent Responsibilities

  • Prepare and test adhesive formulations in accordance with established guidelines, working independently or in collaboration with chemists, scientists and technical staff.
  • Accurately document test data in laboratory information systems. Communicates basic observations regarding data and/or experimental outcomes.
  • Read and follow work instructions and safety data sheets (SDS) related to sample preparation, formulating adhesives and sample testing.
  • Employ basic problem-solving skills to overcome project bottlenecks and maintain project deliverable dates.
  • Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and support safe work practices, including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, 5S, et
  • Utilize various computer systems to perform work and write internal and external final test reports.
  • Use a variety of curing and dispensing equipment.
  • Maintain calibration of laboratory instruments regularly to ensure reliability
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Chemistry, material science or a related science field
  • Ability to gather, understand, and interpret chemical, physical and mechanical data
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other team members in product development programs
