Job description

Position Summary:
The lab associate will work with our senior staff and leadership to run tests, analyze results and report on data findings.
Job duties:
  • Prepare equipment and workspace.
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed.
  • Assist in collecting data for accreditation.
  • Prepare samples for testing using various types of laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor laboratory testing with faculty, including immunohematology, chemistry, hematology, microbiology etc.
  • Organize documentation, take notes, record data and results.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records.
  • Label specimens accurately and distribute them to the students.
  • Order, Clean and maintain work area and all lab equipment and supplies.
  • Organize and maintain lab storage, samples, and specimens.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens.
  • Conduct laboratory tests, analyze, and categorize results.
  • Record and document analysis results; report results and variations to supervisor.
  • Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies.
  • Sanitize and sterilize equipment and workspace.
  • Research industry trends and advancement.
  • Assists faculty with additional duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher in medical technology.
  • MLT or MLS certification.
  • Reliable transportation to visit clinical site to pick up specimens.
