As part of the W.M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience, the Kwan Lab is seeking a Research Associate (non tenure track) to support active investigations into inner ear regeneration by performing a range of laboratory responsibilities, including managing and maintaining a mouse breeding colony, collecting and preparing tissue samples for immunofluorescence and histological analysis, and conducting stem cell cultures designed to model and recapitulate inner ear regeneration in vitro.

Minimum Education and Experience
PhD required. Mouse genetics, single cell genomics and chromosome capture exprience required.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Human stem cell culture, organoid generation, single cell genomics experience and chromosome capture experience. Bioinformatics and skills using Python or R would be useful.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous genomics and mouse experience preferred. Extensive molecular experience preferred.
Equipment Utilized
Chromium X controller, Confocal microscope, high performance computing cluster to run R scripts or Jupyter notebooks.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to perform daily cell culture, mouse weaning, breeding, and genotyping.
Overview
The project will look at how toplogoically associating domains establish cell identity and promote neuronal differentiation.
