Description
The Wasson Lab at NYU's Department of Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Laboratory Associate. This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.
This position affords continued training for a specialized career path in research. It will provide development of technical skills; supervision by senior scientists incorporating individual development plan in support of training goals and those of faculty mentor; and possible publication of research findings during appointment period.
Responsibilities may include:
- Laboratory maintenance, including glass wash, media preparation, lab organization, and handling chemical waste.
- Management of databases
- Conducting an independent research project.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,656. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Biology or a related field, 1 year of research experience, and experience with C. elegans work.
