The Lab Technician position is responsible for conducting the blending and analysis of pure and mixed gases to determine compliance with Airgas and customer specifications. Blends to standard operating procedures and extracts and measures samples of gases to evaluate compliance based upon set standards. Completes all necessary documentation to accurately record all gas analysis required by SOP's and safety regulations.
  • Perform blending.
  • Ideally brings or is ready to develop a strong understanding of internal SOPs for compliance with DOT, OSHA, FDA, ISO, EPA, and CGA.
  • Performs and documents analysis on gases to determine contents and compare to set standards for Airgas and customer specifications.
  • Compares analytical results with calculated gravimetric result to determine acceptable agreements and understand or resolve discrepancies.
  • Prioritizes and organizes work plan to optimize testing efficiency.
  • Maintains Gas Lab instruments and equipment.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Airgas Specialty Gas SOP's and Safety rules.
  • Contributes to overall good housekeeping in lab area.
  • Performs calculations involving premixes in order to achieve the necessary tolerances.

Required Qualifications:
  • Computer experience with Google applications and related products.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to routinely lift 25-50 lbs. Frequent bending. Prolonged standing or sitting. Must be able to work occasional overtime, when necessary.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • If internal, must not have any written disciplinary actions within previous 90 days.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Preferred BS Degree with Chemistry or related science field.
